Ingredients:
1 lb. ground beef
1 tsp. olive oil
1/4 medium onion, diced
2 celery stalks, diced
6 Tbl. K-6 Salsa Brava
1 carrot peeled and diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 to 2 Tbl. cider vinegar
1/2 Tbl. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 Tbl. sugar (optional)
1 tsp. salt
2 ea. 8 oz. cans tomato sauce
1/8 tsp. black pepper
8 hamburger buns
Directions:
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the beef. Break it up into small pieces as you cook. Once browned, transfer the beef and any juices to a clean bowl and set aside.
In the same pan over medium heat, warm a teaspoon of olive oil. Add the onions, celery and carrots and cook until the onions are translucent and the carrots and celery are softened, about 20 minutes. Add water to the pan to keep it from drying out. Add the garlic and stir until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
Return the ground beef to the pan. Stir in the tomato sauce, K-6 Keenan's Killer Salsa Brava Hot sauce, 1 tablespoon of cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, sugar (if using), salt and black pepper. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes or put in a slow cooker on low until ready to eat.
Taste and add more vinegar, K-6, salt or sugar as needed. If the sauce is too thin, simmer uncovered for another 5-10 minutes. Add extra liquid to the pan if the sauce starts to dry out.
Serve on hamburger buns with plenty of napkins.
